The Holderness Historical Society is a remarkable institution dedicated to preserving the rich history of Holderness, New Hampshire. From Humble Beginnings

The society’s journey began with its first meeting held at the home of Susan Bacon Keith. Over the years, meetings took place in various locations, including private homes, the Community Church, and even the local firehouse. In 1994, the organization made a significant leap when it purchased the defunct North Holderness Church and relocated it to Curry Place. This building now serves as the home of the museum.

Visiting the Museum

The museum is open seasonally, from June 15 to September 14, 2024, every Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon. Additionally, visitors can schedule appointments for other times. Upcoming Events

The Holderness Historical Society hosts several exciting events throughout the summer. Other notable events include a presentation titled Live Free or Die: The Contested History of the Words on Your License Plate on June 26 and Walking in the Woods with Robert Frost on July 17, 2024. These events are sponsored by New Hampshire Humanities and aim to enrich the community’s connection to history.
