This historic box was once forgotten in the attic of the Old Town Hall, where it fell into disrepair. Fortunately, the Bedford Historical Society rescued and restored the box, ensuring it remains a part of Bedford’s electoral history. During its operational days, ballots would collect at the bottom and were manually counted, showcasing the labor-intensive process of the time.
