About Us
The Fine Art Galleries are dedicated to showcasing diverse artistic perspectives while supporting the academic mission of the School of Art and Design. After the School of Art and Design moved to the Windgate Center of Art + Design, the Fine Arts building’s galleries were repurposed. This adaptation has allowed the galleries to accommodate the needs of various departments, especially during the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Current Exhibitions
The galleries currently host several exciting exhibitions. Among them is the “Creative Currents: Faculty Biennial,” running from September 27 to November 3, 2024. This exhibition highlights the innovative work of faculty members and is complemented by a reception on October 10 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.
Another noteworthy exhibition is “River Davis: MA Painting,” showcasing from November 4 to December 11, 2024. Visitors can engage with the artist during an artist talk on November 14, followed by a reception later that evening. Additionally, “Emily Moll Wood: New Work” will be on display from October 7 to November 1, 2024, while “Amanda Burnham: Y Tho” will be featured from August 26 to November 10, 2024.
Gallery Spaces
The Fine Art Galleries include the Brad Cushman Gallery, Ann Maners and Alex Pappas Gallery, Focus Gallery, and Gallery One. Gallery One, situated on the ground floor of the Fine Arts building, has been rejuvenated to return to its original function as an art gallery. This space has immense potential for featuring various art forms and encouraging community engagement.
Visiting Information
The galleries are open Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, with weekend hours now unavailable for Gallery One. Visitors are encouraged to stop by during these hours to experience engaging art exhibitions entirely free of charge. The galleries are located at the Windgate Center of Art + Design, 5617 West 28th Street, Little Rock, AR 72204.
