Meet Our Wildlife Ambassadors

One of the highlights of Brukner Nature Center is the chance to meet the wildlife ambassadors. These animals, native to Ohio, can no longer survive in the wild due to various circumstances. You can observe them in both indoor and outdoor exhibits, providing a close-up view of these incredible creatures. This educational experience helps visitors understand the challenges many species face and the importance of conservation efforts.

Explore Nature Trails

With six miles of nature trails, Brukner Nature Center offers visitors ample opportunity to hike and discover wildlife in their natural habitats, including woodland, wetland, and prairie ecosystems. The trails are open from sunrise to sunset, inviting you to explore the beauty of nature at different times of the day.

The Interpretive Building

The Interpretive Building is home to several attractions, including live wildlife exhibits, a Children’s Nature library, and a nature shop. Notably, the Tree-Top Bird Vista provides a perfect viewing area for birdwatching. This air-conditioned space is a refuge during the summer and a cozy spot in winter, allowing you to observe species like the pileated woodpecker year-round.

Programs and Events

Brukner Nature Center offers a variety of educational programs and events, such as summer camps, field trips, night hikes, and home school programs. Outreach programs are also available upon request. Each month, a local artisan is featured in the Nature Shop, giving visitors a chance to support local crafts while enjoying a 10% discount if they are BNC members.

Admission to Brukner Nature Center is $2.50 per person or $10 per family for non-members, with free admission on Sundays. Members enjoy complimentary access all year round. The Interpretive Building is open Monday through Saturday, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
