Despite veering off course during his teens, this hobby was reignited in 1984 with a thoughtful gift from his wife—a Bachmann N Scale starter set. Although space constraints limited the ability to create a substantial layout initially, this was merely a stepping stone in his journey of model railroading.

After moving to Houston in 2005, he experienced the joy of building a train display in a dedicated space. However, issues such as a dirty garage prompted a new approach. Over the years, the designs and layouts evolved, but the love for modeling trains remained strong.
