It was dubbed the “greatest lot sale in the history of Dallas.” On September 3, 1906, a staggering two hundred lots were sold between 12:01 A.M. and 12:45 A.M. Advertisements promised that Junius Heights would become the choicest residential area in Dallas, a promise that the district has fulfilled over a century later. The iconic large columns that grace Abrams serve as a reminder of its architectural heritage.

A Community Committed to Preservation

In 2005, the active neighborhood association of Junius Heights achieved historic designation, making it Dallas’ newest and largest historic district. With over 800 homes, this area is a vibrant example of early 20th-century residential planning. The neighborhood is situated east of Munger Place, south of Swiss Avenue, and southwest of the Lakewood area, showcasing beautiful streetscapes and a strong sense of community.

Residents are encouraged to become members of the Junius Heights Historic District Association. Membership is voluntary and available to all neighborhood residents for just $35.00 per household annually. This small fee helps support community initiatives and events.
