Discover the Madison Trust for Historic Preservation
Located in Madison, United States, the Madison Trust for Historic Preservation is a vital organization dedicated to advocating for and educating the community about its historic places. This museum plays a crucial role in preserving the architectural heritage of Madison while providing engaging programs and tours that connect the public with the city’s rich history.
Support Historic Preservation
The Madison Trust encourages community involvement, especially during the year-end giving period. For a limited time, donors can double their impact, with every dollar matched up to the first $10,000 raised. This initiative means your $25 donation becomes $50, or a contribution of $100 turns into $200. All donations received by December 31 will directly support the Trust’s mission.
Engaging Programs and Tours
The museum operates an impressive range of tours that have been enjoyed by over 1,330 participants in 2024 alone. With more than 60 tours given this year, it is evident that the community values these educational experiences. The tours have been a staple for over 21 years, providing insights into Madison’s architectural gems and historical landmarks.
Architectural Series and Advocacy News
The Madison Trust is excited to announce the return of its Architectural Series in January. Four programs are lined up, delving into significant figures in architecture and design:
- Conover and Porter on January 22
- Frank Lloyd Wright on February 27
- Arthur Peabody on March 12
- Potter Lawson on April 30 (in-person event)
Additionally, the Trust’s advocacy efforts include monitoring preservation issues in the community. Recently, two buildings in the Wingra Park National Register Historic District faced a demolition proposal that was unanimously rejected. The Trust continually seeks to protect and enhance the historical integrity of Madison.
