Over the years, the museum has received valuable contributions from generous donors. One noteworthy donor is the Jim Parks family, who graciously allowed the museum to utilize their former funeral home building, ensuring a place for the collection to flourish. This partnership lasted for an impressive 27 years, proving vital for the museum’s operations.

Honoring Heritage and History

In 1995, a granite marker was erected on the museum property to honor Jim Thorpe, a notable athlete born south of Prague. Moreover, leading up to the city’s centennial celebration in 2002, local residents Norma Foreman and Louise Kuebeck played integral roles in developing a comprehensive history book titled, “Prague, the First One Hundred Years.” This publication serves as a foundational document for understanding the local legacy and culture.
