Packing House Center for Arts: A Community-Driven Treasure in Denver
The Packing House Center for Arts, located in the vibrant city of Denver, is a unique museum that celebrates collaboration, community engagement, and artistic innovation. As we transition into 2024 and beyond, this museum continues to redefine the interaction between art and society.
A Note from Our Artistic Director
With a focus on welcoming new experiences, our Artistic Director emphasizes the importance of radical responsiveness in our project development. The museum operates within a framework of collaborative programming that is both labor-intensive and creatively enriching. Each artistic project acts as a momentary utopia, contributing to a sustainable cycle of creativity where remnants from past programs nourish future initiatives.
Upcoming Programming: A Look at 2025
As we look forward to 2025, the Packing House Center for Arts is thrilled to introduce four new works that embody our core values of collaboration and community. These projects will showcase the depth of talent and creativity present in our local and global art scene.
Recent Artistic Works
The exhibits at the museum are diverse and thought-provoking. Recent projects include “Breathing Healing into the Banks of Sand Creek” in 2024, “Bitter Moon” and “Strange Natures,” both of which were presented in 2023. Other notable works include “Canopy” (2022) and “THE END” (2022). Each of these projects is designed to immerse audiences in rich narratives that bridge the gap between imagination and sensory reality.
Control Group: Innovating Art Experiences
The Packing House Center for Arts is partnered with Control Group Productions, known for its expeditionary performance style. This approach offers live, immersive experiences that transport audiences into the unknown. By exploring hidden corners of our world, Control Group’s performances enrich our understanding of both art and ourselves.
A Commitment to Community
At the heart of the Packing House Center for Arts is a dedication to community development through the arts. We strive to cultivate new voices, bringing artistic practices to underserved communities. Our aim is to promote personal growth, career development, and shared learning experiences for artists at all levels.
Embracing Local Culture
Packing House Center for Arts stands as a pillar of innovation in Denver’s independent performance scene. By connecting local culture with global artistic trends, we are committed to building a community that thrives in the 21st century.
Location and Heritage
The Packing House Center for Arts honors the land it stands on, which is unceded territory belonging to the Hinóno’éà (Arapaho), Tsitsistas (Cheyenne), and Nuciu (Ute) nations. Acknowledging this heritage is vital as we continue to foster inclusive and socially engaged art in our community.
Join us at the Packing House Center for Arts as we explore new narratives, embrace creativity, and celebrate the transformative power of art.
