The Carrabelle Lighthouse Association is home to the historic Crooked River Lighthouse, located in Carrabelle, Florida. Explore the Historic Lighthouse

Built in 1895 and restored in 2007, the 103-foot iron skeleton structure stands tall on its current site. Visitors can brave the climb up 128 steps to enjoy breathtaking views from the top. The lighthouse tower is known for being the tallest on the Forgotten Coast. For just $6.00 for adults aged 13 and older and $3.00 for youths aged 5 to 12, adventurers can experience the stunning vistas, weather permitting.

Free Admission and Operating Hours

Admission to the museum and park grounds is free. The museum welcomes guests from Wednesday to Sunday, between 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. It remains closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Special events, such as the Country Markets held on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Saturdays of each month, offer additional hours. Full Moon events and other community gatherings also bring unique opportunities for exploration.

The Keeper’s House Museum

The highlight of the Keeper’s House Museum is the original Fourth Order Fresnel lens, crafted in 1894 in Paris, France. This rare lens features a stunning bi-valve open face design and operates with a distinctive 90-degree group flash. Visitors can also learn about lighthouse beacons throughout history, the methods used in constructing skeletal tower lighthouses, and see everyday life objects from the early 1900s.

Special Events and Community Involvement

The Carrabelle Lighthouse Association actively engages with the community through various events and initiatives. One exciting upcoming event is the “Blues & BBQ” scheduled for December 15. Additionally, guests can “Pave the Pathways” by purchasing a custom engraved brick, contributing to the museum’s preservation efforts.
