For the upcoming 2024 season, the museum will offer train rides every Saturday and Sunday from May 4 through October 6. Board the train at either the main site, Nelson Crossing Depot, or at the Wabash Depot located in downtown Monticello. Each ride lasts around one hour, providing ample time for passengers to absorb the fascinating world of trains.

Historic Collection and Displays

The museum boasts over 70 historic trains, featuring both steam and diesel locomotives. Additionally, the collection includes various types of rolling stock, with some items being over a century old. Visitors can walk through display cars and marvel at the intricate details of each piece of equipment. The experience can also be complemented by a visit to the museum’s gift shop, which offers souvenirs and memorabilia.
