Discovering the Hastings College Art Gallery
The Hastings College Art Gallery, located at 711 E. 7th St., Hastings, Nebraska, is a vibrant space dedicated to showcasing diverse works of art. Open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., the gallery offers a dynamic exhibition schedule that features local, national, and student artists. Current and Upcoming Exhibitions
The gallery hosts a rotating collection of exhibitions throughout the academic year. From November 6 to December 12, visitors can enjoy a joint exhibition featuring paintings by Molly Nuzzo and photographs from a Patrick Dougherty project by Roger Bruhn. This unique showcase highlights the significance of different artistic mediums and encourages dialogue among viewers.
Following this exhibition, the 2013 Hastings College All-Student Art Exhibition will be on display from January 6 to January 31, providing a platform for emerging artists. A reception is scheduled for Thursday, January 9, from 4 to 5 p.m., allowing attendees to meet the artists and discuss their works in a welcoming atmosphere.
Special Features in 2014
In February, the gallery will feature a Video Installation and a Video Art Open Call by Elizabeth Stehling, running from February 3 to February 28. This innovative showcase encourages participants to explore new dimensions of creativity through video art. A reception will also be held on Thursday, February 6, from 4 to 5 p.m.
The month of March will bring an exhibition showcasing printmaking, video, and drawing by Mark Rice, from March 3 to March 28. A reception for this exhibition is set for Thursday, March 6, from 4 to 5 p.m. These events are designed not only to display art but also to foster relationships between artists and art enthusiasts.
Senior Thesis Exhibitions
As the academic year progresses into April and May, the gallery will feature Senior Thesis Exhibitions. Dates and receptions for these exhibitions will be announced later, promising unique and personal expressions from graduating students.
