Discover Howell Living Historical Farm in Titusville, New Jersey
Howell Living Historical Farm is a captivating museum located in Titusville, United States. The farm is currently closed for the season and will reopen on January 25, 2025. However, their gift shop remains open through December 20, offering unique items for purchase.
Engaging Hands-On Learning Experiences
One of the highlights of Howell Living Historical Farm is its educational programs, particularly designed for children and families. Every fall, the farm hosts activities tied to the corn harvest from October to November. During this event, children engage in harvesting corn. They learn about the significance of open-pollinated kernels, collect ears of corn, and experience the process of husking and grinding corn for animal feed. The educational journey concludes in the farmhouse kitchen, where participants taste freshly made cornbread and discover why field corn is essential for both humans and animals.
Fall Farm Animals School Programs
The farm also provides enriching Fall Farm Animals School Programs from September to November. As winter approaches, children learn about the preparations made for livestock care. This 90-minute sampler showcases essential morning chores, providing insights into how farmers maintain the health and productivity of their animals. Participants can expect to meet the farm’s horses, sheep, pigs, and chickens while actively engaging in tasks such as shelling corn and gathering eggs.
Upcoming Saturday Events
During November, Howell Living Historical Farm hosts a series of exciting Saturday events. On November 2, families can participate in cider pressing. Following that, on November 9, attendees will learn about bacon, sausage, and scrapple making. Other events include a corn harvest and husking bee on November 16, logging and firewood cutting on November 23, and Thanksgiving hayrides and corn picking on November 30.

The farm is also conducting a Carousel Restoration Fundraiser. Visitors can find beautiful and affordable treasures in the gift shop while supporting the restoration of Howell Farm’s historic 1930 carousel. New antiques are added every week, making the gift shop an enticing place for unique finds.
