Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve offers a variety of programs and events throughout the seasons, catering to all ages and interests. One exciting event is the Fourth Fridays for Families, scheduled for December 22, where participants can join Priscilla Hayes for a session titled “A Long Winter’s Sleep.” This event is perfect for families looking to engage with nature during the winter months.
Additionally, the preserve is launching a Winter Lecture Series starting January 7, 2024. This series consists of eight virtual classes designed to deepen your knowledge of native plants and their importance in our ecosystems. Each class is held on Sundays from 2 PM to 3 PM.
Recognition through the Land Ethics Awards
The Preserve is currently accepting nominations for the 2024 Land Ethics Awards. These awards recognize the best community efforts, individual efforts, and large-scale projects aimed at promoting environmental stewardship. Interested parties can submit their nominations by February 1, 2024, to acknowledge the admirable work done within the community.
Plan Your Visit
For those planning a visit, keep in mind the holiday hours. The Preserve will be closed from December 24 to January 2 but will reopen on Wednesday, January 3. From April to June, the Preserve is open daily from 9 AM to 5 PM, and from July to March, it operates from Wednesday to Monday.
