Artist’s Statement

In her latest exhibition, “Intertwine,” MadameFraankie intertwines her creative lineage into her photographic narrative. This body of work is inspired by her artistic roots, including her grandmother’s sewing machine and her mother’s collection of paintbrushes. The works displayed utilize innovative mixed-media techniques, combining traditional photography with cyanotype methods, watercolor, and fabrics.

MadameFraankie’s artistry creates a permanent channel through which the mediums of her ancestors play an active role in her work. Each piece is carefully crafted, evoking the textures, scenes, and feelings of home while emphasizing simplicity and normality. Photographs from her family’s archive are artfully woven with her contemporary images, offering viewers a rich visual dialogue that transcends time.
