Lubbock Regional Arts Center: Cultivating Creativity in the Heart of Texas

Welcome to the Lubbock Regional Arts Center, also known as LHUCA, a vibrant non-profit arts hub located in Downtown Lubbock, Texas. Our mission is to cultivate and celebrate all forms of art by inspiring creativity and engaging the community. This dynamic center is a key player in the local art scene, showcasing a variety of exhibitions, workshops, and community events.

First Friday Art Trail

One of the most exciting offerings is the First Friday Art Trail. Held from 6-9 p.m. on the first Friday of every month, this free and self-guided event features local artists and galleries, transforming Lubbock into a vibrant canvas of creativity. Rain or shine, this event has become a cornerstone of the Texas art community, drawing art lovers from all around.

Clay Studio

The Helen DeVitt Jones Clay Studio is a working studio that inspires creativity through ceramic arts. Open to the public, it offers classes, workshops, and studio memberships, making it a fantastic place for both beginners and seasoned artists to explore their passion for pottery.

Community Events and Performances

LHUCA hosts an array of community events that cater to diverse interests. The Hub City Renaissance Faire, scheduled for Saturday, October 19, promises art, music, and theatrical performances, making it a family-friendly celebration. Additionally, the Ballroom Dance at LHUCA sessions, led by instructors Adam and Kate on Wednesdays, provide a fun way to learn various dance styles, no partner or experience required.

Art Exhibitions

The LHUCA Galleries are a stage for both local and internationally acclaimed artists. Featuring works by talents such as Eric Charlton, Jessica Fuentes and Raul Rodriguez, Timothy Harding, Anne Labovitz, and Nick Larsen, these exhibitions are open to the public Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., with free admission for all ages.
