The Scott County Regional Horse Association, located in Dungannon, United States, is more than just a museum; it is a vibrant hub for equine enthusiasts. Its mission revolves around promoting and providing equine activities within Scott County and the surrounding areas. The association is dedicated to encouraging sportsmanship, family values, and lasting friendships among community members and fellow horsemen.

Mission and Values

The primary goal of the Scott County Regional Horse Association is to create an inclusive environment for all breeds and activities related to horses. By engaging youth and adults alike, they strive to foster a love for equestrian sports and ensure that the community can partake in shared experiences. Volunteer efforts play a crucial role in making this mission a reality, with community involvement at the forefront of all activities.

Upcoming Events

The association hosts various events to engage with members and the community. For instance, the 2024 Awards Banquet and Membership Meeting will take place on January 18, 2025, at 6 PM. Attendees are encouraged to bring two covered dishes per family to share. This event not only celebrates achievements but also strengthens community bonds through shared meals and camaraderie.

Another significant event is Vet Day, scheduled for March 15, 2025, at 11 AM, featuring Dr. Jared Darnell DMV. This event is an excellent opportunity for horse owners to ensure their equine partners are in good health and receive necessary veterinary care.

Community Initiatives

The association also supports innovative community initiatives, such as “Nila’s Closet.” This program, initiated by a senior 4-H member, helps distribute unused show clothes to those in need. Donations of gently used equestrian apparel are welcomed. For those interested in participating, contacting Lindsey Bishop McDavid through the Scott County 4-H is encouraged.
