Please note that parking is not allowed along University Boulevard, ensuring a safe experience for all guests visiting the arboretum.
Exciting New Features: StoryWalk®
On May 5th, 2023, the arboretum debuted an innovative project known as StoryWalk®. This delightful initiative allows children and adults to enjoy reading while exploring the garden. Laminated pages from a children’s book are attached to wooden stakes along a designated path. As you walk through the Family Garden, you will find the StoryWalk® just past the Troll, near the bridge. This project was made possible through collaborative efforts from the Harrisonburg Urban Wood Group, JMU Design Build Dukes, and students in Professor Nick Brinen’s Architectural Design Class.
Upcoming Maintenance Notice
Visitors should be aware that from Monday to Wednesday, November 25-27, there will be noisy tree maintenance occurring in and around the Family Garden. This maintenance may affect the overall quietness of the area, so plan your visit accordingly.
