Upcoming Events in December
Mark your calendars for December 4! The McLean Project for the Arts (MPA) will host two exciting holiday exhibition events. Beginning at 11 am, attendees can enjoy a Tea & Talk featuring MPA Assistant Curator Jen Lillis. This is a great opportunity to learn about current exhibitions. Later that evening, don’t miss the print portfolio fundraiser. This event showcases innovative works from over 16 talented printmakers across Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia.
Winter Art Classes
This winter, the McLean Project for the Arts offers a wonderful lineup of art classes suitable for all ages, interests, and skill levels. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced artist, there’s something for everyone. Long-time favorites return alongside new seasonal workshops, including the popular “Creating Artwork with Layered Paper” classes led by instructor Ronni Jolles. It’s a perfect way to enhance creativity while escaping from the winter chill.
Annual Giving Campaign 2024
As MPA embarks on an exciting expansion, the 2024 Annual Giving Campaign aims to raise $100,000 to support ongoing initiatives. Your contributions ensure that MPA’s essential work continues uninterrupted as they strive to inspire and connect art with the community. Current Exhibitions and Holiday Shopping
Currently, MPA features two fall/winter exhibitions titled “Vibrant Matter: Works from Wood” and “Growth Patterns: Work by Amelia Hankin.” These captivating displays are available for viewing until January 5, 2025. Additionally, the holiday season brings an excellent opportunity for unique gift shopping. MPA art classes make thoughtful presents for friends and family. They are a perfect way to encourage creativity and artistic exploration.
Open Studio Sessions
In response to popular demand, the always-loved Open Studio sessions have returned. These sessions occur on Saturdays, allowing art enthusiasts to dive into their creativity among peers. Participants can register for the full session and enjoy a fantastic, supportive environment.
