What We Do

The Virginia Space Flight Academy offers a rich array of educational opportunities, including the popular Space Adventure Camp. This week-long, residential camp welcomes students aged 11 to 16 and features hands-on activities in aerospace, coding, and robotics. Participants can choose from beginner to advanced sessions, ensuring that every camper gains essential 21st-century skills necessary for innovation.

In addition to the camp, the academy runs a STEM Academy, which provides year-round learning experiences for students aged 8 to 14. The STEM Academy features live and on-demand instruction, specialized materials kits, and continuous access to STEM professionals for mentorship. Various modules are available, making the program adaptable for all learning environments.

Upcoming Events

Interactive events also play a crucial role in the academy’s mission. For instance, they host a free Hour of Code event, which invites students of all backgrounds to dive into the world of programming. No prior experience is needed—just an eagerness to learn and explore coding. Such events are designed to make STEM accessible and exciting.

On December 19, 2024, the academy will be conducting a live Q&A session for alumni and current students. This is a perfect opportunity to engage with experts and get answers about upcoming programming in 2025. Participants can register ahead of time to secure their spot.
