About the Museum

The Southport Light Station Museum, located on a scenic hill above the History Center, focuses on the maritime history of the area. It includes a beautifully restored 1866 lighthouse and the adjacent Lighthouse Keeper’s home, built in 1867. The home has been restored to reflect its appearance in 1908, providing visitors with an immersive historical experience.

Visiting Hours

For those interested in visiting, the History Center is open Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. The Southport Light Station Museum operates from mid-May through the end of October, with hours on Thursday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
